2D Echo & ECG
Painless, radiation-free cardiac assessment & monitoring — expert diagnostics for a healthier heart
Book Cardiac AssessmentNon-Invasive Cardiology Diagnostics
Welcome to the Non-Invasive Cardiology Diagnostics Department at Jeevan Jyoti Hospital. Your heart is your body's most critical engine, and maintaining its health requires precise, continuous, and expert monitoring.
We offer highly advanced, painless, and radiation-free cardiac assessments using state-of-the-art ECG and 2D Echocardiography technology. These primary diagnostic tools allow our expert cardiologists to detect heart conditions at their earliest stages — ensuring you receive the right treatment exactly when you need it.
Key difference: While both tests evaluate the heart, they look at two completely different systems — the ECG checks the heart's electrical wiring, while the 2D Echo visualizes its mechanical structure and plumbing. Together, they provide a complete picture of your cardiac health.

Our Cardiac Diagnostic Services
Both tests are completely non-invasive, safe, and involve zero radiation. You can return to normal daily activities immediately after.
Electrocardiogram
The electrical system of your heart — fast, painless, under 5 minutes
An ECG is a fast, completely painless test that records the electrical signals traveling through your heart each time it beats. It is the first line of defense in diagnosing acute heart issues.
How It Works
Our technicians attach small, sticky sensors (electrodes) to your chest, arms, and legs. These sensors capture the electrical impulses and translate them into a wave pattern on a digital monitor or printed graph. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes.
Why It's Done
- Detecting Heart Attacks — fastest way to determine a current or past silent MI
- Arrhythmias — identifies irregular, abnormally fast, or unusually slow heartbeats
- Pre-Surgical Fitness — mandatory safety check before anesthesia and surgery
- Routine Screening — monitors effects of high blood pressure or diabetes on the heart
2D Echocardiography
Live moving images of your heart's structure, valves & chambers
A 2D Echo is an advanced medical ultrasound of the heart. It provides our cardiologists with a live, moving, cross-sectional image of your heart's chambers, valves, and blood vessels in real-time.
How It Works
A technician applies a clear, water-based gel to your chest and moves a handheld transducer over the skin. The device emits high-frequency sound waves that bounce off your heart structures, instantly generating highly detailed video images on a computer screen.
Why It's Done
- Ejection Fraction (EF) — measures exactly how well your heart is pumping blood
- Valve Disorders — detects leaky valves (regurgitation) or tight valves (stenosis)
- Structural Defects — identifies congenital defects or post-infarction muscle damage
- Pericardial Effusion — checks for abnormal fluid buildup around the heart
Patient Guidelines & Preparation
Both the ECG and 2D Echo are completely non-invasive and safe — no special preparation is required for most patients.
Diet & Fasting
No fasting required for standard ECG or 2D Echo tests. You may eat and drink normally prior to your appointment.
Clothing
Wear a comfortable two-piece outfit — you will need to undress from the waist up and wear a hospital gown for chest access.
Medication
Continue taking all prescribed medications unless your cardiologist has explicitly advised otherwise before the test.
Result Turnaround
Digital reports for both ECG and 2D Echo are generated immediately. In urgent cases, our on-duty cardiologist reviews results instantly.
