S. Bilirubin / T / D / I
Bilirubin is a yellowish pigment produced during the normal breakdown of red blood cells. The liver normally processes this and excretes it through bile. We measure three distinct levels: Total (T), Direct (D), and Indirect (I).
Why it's done: High levels of bilirubin cause jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes). Breaking this down into Total, Direct, and Indirect levels helps our specialists pinpoint exactly where the problem lies — whether it is excessive red blood cell destruction, a liver processing failure, or a blockage in the bile ducts.
Liver Enzymes: SGOT (ALT) & SGPT (AST)
