State-of-the-art, low-radiation digital imaging — crystal-clear internal visuals for precise diagnosis and treatment

Welcome to the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences

Diagnostic imaging is often the most critical step in identifying a medical condition. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art, low-radiation imaging technology designed to provide your consulting physician with crystal-clear, highly accurate internal visuals of your body.

From routine screenings to emergency diagnostics, our expert radiologists and skilled technicians prioritize your comfort, safety, and rapid result delivery.

Our Diagnostic Imaging Services

We provide comprehensive, non-invasive imaging services to assist in the precise diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of medical conditions. Our core radiology services include:

1

X-Ray (Digital Radiography)

An X-Ray is one of the oldest, fastest, and most frequently used forms of medical imaging. At Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, we utilize modern Digital Radiography (DR), which requires significantly less radiation than traditional X-rays and produces high-resolution images instantly on a computer screen.

How it works: It uses a safe, highly controlled, targeted beam of radiation to create images of the structures inside your body. Dense materials, like bone, absorb the radiation and appear white, while softer tissues appear in shades of gray.

Why it's done:

Bone Diagnostics: To detect bone fractures, joint dislocations, infections, arthritis, and osteoporosis.

Chest & Lungs: A chest X-ray is a standard test to diagnose lung infections (like pneumonia), tuberculosis, fluid in the lungs, or an enlarged heart.

Abdomen: To identify digestive tract issues or swallowed foreign objects.

2

USG (Ultrasonography / Ultrasound)

Ultrasonography is a completely safe, painless, and radiation-free imaging technique. It is highly versatile and allows our specialists to see the internal organs of your body functioning in real-time.

How it works: USG uses a transducer device that emits high-frequency sound waves into your body. These sound waves bounce off your internal tissues and organs, echoing back to the machine to instantly generate a live video image on a monitor.

Why it's done:

Abdominal Imaging: Crucial for evaluating the health of the liver, kidneys, gallbladder (to check for stones), pancreas, and spleen.

Pelvic & Obstetric Health: The gold standard for monitoring the health and development of a fetus during pregnancy, as well as diagnosing issues in the uterus or ovaries.

Vascular Studies: To monitor blood flow through arteries and veins, helping to detect blockages or blood clots.

Soft Tissue & Thyroid: Used to examine lumps, cysts, or the thyroid gland in the neck.

Patient Guidelines & Preparation

Different imaging tests require different preparations to ensure the clearest possible results.

For X-Rays

Generally, no special preparation is required. You will be asked to remove any jewelry, watches, or clothing with metal zippers or buttons over the area being examined, as metal can block the X-ray beams.

For USG (Ultrasound)

Preparation depends entirely on the area being examined.

Abdominal Ultrasound

You may be asked to fast (no food or water) for 8 to 12 hours prior to the test to prevent gas build-up, which can obscure the organs.

Pelvic / Renal Ultrasound

You will typically be asked to drink several glasses of water before the exam and avoid urinating so that your bladder is completely full, which provides a clearer acoustic window.
